Welcome to Week #52

We're moving from a pixel exchange to a molecule exchange

As the business world slowly and not so surely returns to a form of working from the office, we’ve moved from a 2D world of work into a 3D world of work.

Maybe 2020/1 were the Zoom Years and if that was the case for you then over our screens we found ourselves connecting one frozen/unfrozen pixel at a time.

We were inadvertently invited into our colleagues' and customers' homes and whilst it wasn’t as meaningful, at least we were doing it from a safe place called home (acknowledging that home might not necessarily be safe for everyone reading this).

We’re now leaving our safe places and re-building the ‘working from another place’ habits. Many people I’ve spoken to since the turn of the year have welcomed the connection that being in the same physical space as colleagues and customers can offer. We’re now exchanging molecules again – molecules of energy, vibe, touch et al. We get to connect face to face and feel what it feels like to connect with another via our eyes. In doing so the exchange seems different.

What are you waiting for?

Wherever you place the emphasis in this sentence – go on try it – it has a slightly different meaning.

The sentiment is the same though – stop waiting. Make a start, even if it's ugly. Take a step even if it’s a small one. Do something even if it takes you backward first.

Whatever you’re waiting for might be at the end of the next step you take.

Question of the week: When was the last time you told someone you’re grateful for something they did/said?

Don’t make the last time so long ago that they’ve forgotten what it feels like to be held in gratitude by another.

This week I challenge you to tell 5 separate people about something you’re grateful they did – doesn’t matter if it was recent or not.

Quote of the week: "People will never rise above the opinion of themselves" Peter Sage

Whether that’s true or not, you could be the opinion for someone else.

In doing so, maybe you could see beyond their current circumstances and help them rise accordingly. The more you do it for others the more you’ll find it easier for yourself.
