#39

emotions whispers words describing obscure emotions Oct 24, 2021

Welcome to Week #39

What whisper did you hear from #38?

Were you struck by the happiest man on earth?

Have you considered the happiness already in your hands?

Have you put effort in despite not knowing who it might benefit?

Are you able to move beyond the worst thing that’s ever happened to you?

What’s struck me this week?

How could something so beautiful be hiding in plain sight!

I came across this Ted talk almost by accident. I can’t even remember what I was originally searching for. When I dug a little deeper into some of the words that John had created to describe obscure emotions I was hooked. The work he’s done touched me in so many ways. It’s something that really struck me this week so devoting the entire whisper to new words to describe obscure emotions.

Many resonated with me but here are some short videos of 4 of my favourites. Give yourself the gift of space. Click on a video link and prepare to be touched.

There must be so many beautiful, wonderful, inspiring, jaw-dropping and meant-for-you messages waiting to be found. Are you looking? Are you imagining what they could be? When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Are you ready? Is your teacher hiding in plain sight?

Freedom Fridays Podcast

My weekly conversation with ordinary people doing extraordinary things. We explore some of the big changes people have gone through and what’s helped the journey. The intention is to share as openly as possible some of the ingredients – the good, the bad, the ugly – that shape our shift from ‘I have to’ into ‘I choose to’. The lessons are hiding in open sight within the conversation – it’s up to you how you apply them.

This week’s episode is a chat with Marcus Crow, a long-time friend, ex-colleague and fellow facilitator. The focus of our discussion is change and what we’ve experienced are some of the markers to successful or unsuccessful change efforts – whether personal or professional. As expected, we got into flow and I’ve carved out the conversation into 2 parts. In part #1 we discuss some of the common change management approaches and our views of the positives and negatives. We also touch on navigating complexity beyond the changes that the current pandemic scenario has forced upon many of us.

Check out Part 1 Episode #37.

That's all for this week and I hop you enjoyed Weekly Whisper #39.

Feedback is my fuel so if you have any comments please send me an email at [email protected] and let me know your thoughts.

Cheers

Pete
